Brayden Lewtas is an Australian director, actor, and writer, who grew up on Tasmania’s North-West Coast. He began his acting career in Melbourne’s community theatre scene, and steadily climbed the ranks in the industry, with roles in popular shows like Neighbours. Brayden also honed his skills as a digital producer at Working Dog Productions, learning from some of Australia’s best, including Rob Sitch, Santo Cilauro, and Tom Gleisner.
As the youngest of four brothers and a father of two, Brayden is a firm believer in ‘making what you know’ – and he knows a thing or two about larrikinism, brotherhood, friendship and reticence. He has a particular love for incorporating comedy and humour into his work, using these elements to express serious themes. By blending humour with sombre subject matter, he adds a layer of relatability and levity to his stories.
Brayden’s stories often explore themes of masculinity and self-discovery. These narratives reflect on how personal and societal conflicts shape our identities. He tackles the concept of resilience, introducing us to complex characters who face adversity with grit and determination, as well as a hint of moral ambiguity.
Brayden’s filmography includes the short film Flathead (2024), which is currently in post-production for its 2025 festival run. Brayden is also in development on his debut feature film.
